An Intimate Temple of Minerva Wedding in Bath

An Intimate Temple of Minerva Wedding in Bath

From my very first phone call with Amy and Ben, I knew I would love to be their Temple of Minerva wedding photographer, so I was absolutely buzzing when they chose me to capture their unique and intimate wedding day.

The Temple of Minerva, tucked away in the beautiful Victoria Park, is such an enchanting setting for a wedding in the heart of Bath. Surrounded by gardens and flower filled paths, it offers a relaxed and intimate atmosphere while still feeling incredibly special — the perfect backdrop for Amy and Ben’s day.

I arrived at the Temple of Minerva at 1pm and met Ben, along with my colleague Frankie from FJB Visuals, who was there to capture the wedding day on video. The sunshine was out, the guests had gathered, and everyone was taking their seats ready for the ceremony.

Before Amy walked down the aisle, a voiceover was played for Ben from their son, telling his Daddy how much he loved him and how excited he was for Mummy and Daddy to get married. It was such a beautiful and unexpected moment. I definitely had a few tears in my eyes and had to put my sunglasses on to hide them!

Amy then made the beautiful walk through the gardens with her Dad and brother before meeting Ben at the end of the aisle, with their son there to join them. Their ceremony was led by their friend Amen, making it feel incredibly personal and meaningful to them as a couple.

Wedding Photography at the Temple of Minerva

Once the ceremony was over, it was time for the celebrations to begin. Guests enjoyed welcome drinks and a delicious buffet provided by Wild Fig of Bath, while we took the opportunity to capture some relaxed group photographs in front of the Temple of Minerva.

Afterwards, Frankie, Amy, Ben and I wandered through the winding garden paths for their couple portraits. This is one of my favourite parts of being a Bath wedding photographer — taking a little time away from the celebrations with my couples to capture natural, relaxed photographs that reflect how they actually felt on the day.

The gardens surrounding the Temple of Minerva provided so many beautiful spots for photographs, from the lush greenery and winding pathways to the stunning architecture of the temple itself. Amy and Ben were so natural together, which made capturing these moments an absolute joy.

Being their Temple of Minerva wedding photographer was such a privilege. Their day was intimate, personal and full of those little moments that make wedding photography so special — from their son’s heartfelt voiceover to the laughter, sunshine and relaxed celebrations afterwards.
