Heather and Giovanni’s Kingscote Barn Wedding

Heather and Giovanni’s Kingscote Barn Wedding

Heather and Giovanni asked me to be their Kingscote Barn wedding photographer after being referred to me by a mutual friend, and from the second I first spoke to them, I knew they were going to be my kind of couple. They were bubbly, relaxed and so easy to get along with, and I was absolutely buzzing when they booked me to capture their wedding day.

They were planning a classic garden-party-style barn wedding, with beautiful green tones, elegant styling and plenty of relaxed summer vibes. I photographed the day alongside my second photographer, Frankie from FJB Visuals. We work together often and offer a photo and video package.

Kingscote Barn

When I arrived at Kingscote Barn, I was greeted by the lovely wedding coordinator, Jess, who showed me through to the bridal suite where Heather was getting ready. The green bridesmaids’ dresses were hanging beautifully from the curtain, while hair and makeup were already in full swing.

Before Heather got into her dress, I headed over to find Gio and his groomsmen. The atmosphere was- beers in hand, buttonholes being prepared and plenty of excitement building for the day ahead.

Lauradana from Wedding Creations UK was the wedding stylist and had created the most magical ceremony setup at Kingscote Barn. The styling perfectly complemented Heather and Gio’s classic garden-party vision, with gorgeous green tones and beautiful details throughout.

The ceremony was register-led and was followed by a brilliant big paper confetti moment – always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph!

Afterwards, guests were greeted with Pimm’s while Gio’s cousin played the piano in the background and canapés were served. It was one of those wonderfully relaxed moments where everyone could finally take a breath, enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere.

Wedding photography around Kingscote Barn

Once the excitement of the ceremony had settled, Heather and Gio and I wandered around the grounds of Kingscote Barn for some couple portraits.

The rose garden was the perfect spot for some lovely photographs of the two of them together. I always want couple portraits to feel relaxed and natural rather than overly posed, so we kept things really easy-going and took some time away from the guests to let them enjoy a few moments together.

That’s one of the things I love about Kingscote Barn wedding photography – there are so many gorgeous spots around the venue that you can create a really varied collection of photographs without having to spend ages away from your guests.

Dinner, speeches and an incredible sunset

Back inside, the meal was ready to begin and the speeches kicked things off. The styling from Wedding Creations UK had transformed the space once again, creating a spectacular setting for dinner.

As the afternoon turned into evening, the sky put on an absolute show. We were treated to a dramatic black clouded sky followed by a beautiful sunset, which made the perfect backdrop for more photographs and one of those moments that makes photographing weddings so special.

Then it was time to cut the cake and get the party started! A lively five-piece band got everyone onto the dance floor, and the evening quickly turned into one big celebration.
