Louise and Jon’s Barn at Berkeley Wedding
Louise and Jon’s Barn at Berkeley Wedding
I was absolutely delighted to be Louise and Jon’s The Barn at Berkeley wedding photographer, after they were referred to me by my colleague and partner in crime, Frankie from FJB Visuals. Frankie and I offer a joint photo and film package, giving couples full-day coverage of their wedding, from those all-important getting-ready moments right through to the first dance.
Louise and Jon’s wedding at The Barn at Berkeley was everything I love about weddings: colourful, relaxed, full of personality and with plenty of opportunities for some fun photos.
Getting ready at The Barn at Berkeley
Jon and his groomsmen got ready off-site at the Lazy Goose, while Louise got ready in the beautiful bridal suite at The Barn at Berkeley surrounded by her bridesmaids and mum.
The ceremony was registrar-led, and Louise and Jon chose to include a lovely ring warming ceremony. Their wedding rings were passed around their guests, giving everyone the opportunity to hold the rings and make a little wish for the couple before passing them on to the next person. It was such a personal touch and a lovely way to involve their favourite people in the ceremony.
After the ceremony came a brilliant burst of colourful paper confetti, followed by a group photograph with all of their guests.
Wedding photos with Blodwyn
Of course, no wedding at The Barn at Berkeley would have been complete without Louise and Jon’s sausage dog, Blodwyn!
Blodwyn joined us for the couple portrait session around the venue and was absolutely thrilled to be reunited with Mum and Dad. He was also a very handsome model and, naturally, had to feature in some of their wedding photographs.
Once we had captured plenty of sweet family and couple photos, the afternoon settled into that lovely relaxed part of the wedding day where everyone gets to properly enjoy themselves.
My second photographer, Ruby, was busy capturing all of those brilliant candid moments too. From guests catching up and eating ice cream to listening to live musicians, there were so many little moments happening throughout the afternoon that told the story of Louise and Jon’s day.
Wedding breakfast, speeches and country slides
Once the newlyweds were announced into the wedding breakfast room, it was time for the speeches. As always, there were plenty of laughs, a few emotional moments and lots of happy faces around the room. As the afternoon turned into evening, the evening guests began to arrive and the party really started to get going.
One of the wonderfully unique things about getting married at The Barn at Berkeley is having access to the farm’s indoor slides — and Louise and Jon’s guests certainly weren’t going to let the opportunity pass them by!
Watching slightly tipsy wedding guests hurtle down the country slides in their wedding outfits was honestly hilarious. It made for some brilliant, completely unplanned photographs and was exactly the kind of chaotic fun that makes a wedding day memorable.
Then came the Collin the Caterpillar cakes, cocktails and, of course, the dancing. Louise and Jon opened up the dance floor with their first dance before their guests joined them for an evening of celebrating.
A colourful and fun Barn at Berkeley wedding
Louise and Jon’s wedding was such an epic celebration, packed with everything from ice cream and live music to country slides, cocktails, colourful confetti and plenty of dancing.
As a Barn at Berkeley wedding photographer, these are exactly the kinds of weddings I love to photograph — relaxed, colourful, fun and completely focused on having an amazing day with the people you love.
