Kind Words

“I can not recommend Freya enough, she was an absolute delight from start to finish and made us feel so special and comfortable. She is incredibly talented, and is also a wonderful, positive and fun person! We received loads of comments following the wedding about how wonderful she was! I genuinely wouldn't consider anyone else if you want fun, candid and genuine images to look back on.”

My style is unobtrusive, fun and colourful. I want you to enjoy your wedding day while I blend into the background to capture those special moments. I want to capture your day as it happens, I don’t like to pose you in awkward positions or make you stand around for ages smiling at the camera. When I leave your wedding I want you to feel like you have gained another friend. I want to make you feel comfortable throughout the day. I will always go with the flow and make sure I photograph every special moment. Please head over to the ‘Meet Freya’ page to find out more about me and my approach to wedding photography.

So what’s next?

  1. HELLOOOOOOOO

Drop me a message via my contact page with all the details of your fun, colourful wedding and we can get going with the next steps. I want to hear everything about you, from how you met to what festivals you have been to!

2. Signed, Sealed, delivered

This is the boring bit, the paperwork. Once you’ve decided to go ahead and book a 20% deposit is due to secure the date and a contract is signed. I also give you a questionnaire to fill out. This gives me an idea of what group photos if any you want and a rough schedule of the day.

3. Take it easy and put your feet up!

After step 2 you can just relax, and take it easy. You have ticked ‘book a wedding photographer’ off your giant wedding to-do list! I will check in every now and then just to see how you are doing with your plans. Then the next time you will hear from me is a month so before the wedding day, which is when we will have our pre wedding phone call to make sure we have all the timings correct for the big day.

Let’s do this!

Like what you see then please head over to my contact page, I want to hear all about you and your EPIC wedding! I specialise in natural, creative colourful wedding photography in Bristol, Bath, Somerset and the South West. I love exploring fields filled with tents and tipis at a festival wedding, setting off colourful smoke bombs at a barn wedding and finding the perfect graffiti filled or bare red brick wall at an urban wedding. If I sound like your ideal photographer and my style is right up your street then please get in touch and we can chat all things wedding!

Emma & Steve- “I absolutely hate having my photograph taken and feel very insecure, but Freya made me feel so relaxed and at ease I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Freya blended in throughout the day and was a real comfort during stressful parts.”

What I will be doing on the wedding day…

I am an easy going Bristol wedding photographer who just loves an alternative love story! Being a Bristol photographer allows me to meet so many different people from all walks of life. I love being able to photograph weddings because every day is different and you are a part of someone’s biggest and most special day of their lives!

Wether you are celebrating in Bristol or elsewhere, maybe Somerset, Bath, Wales or The Cotswolds, be it a farm, barn or festival wedding I will be there to capture every second in photos so you have memories to remember your amazing wedding!

Being a Bristol wedding Photographer

Myself, my partner and our two dogs have been living on a canal boat for a year and are cruising up and down the River Avon. We moved out of our van where we were based in Somerset whilst we did some traveling around Scotland and Wales. I am originally a northerner, my Mum, Brother and I moved down to Bristol when I was twelve, so I have lived in the South West for quite a while now.

Before I became a Bristol wedding photographer, I worked in the TV industry at BBC Bristol and various other production companies. When I finished university in the Lake District studying wildlife media, I then left Bristol and travelled the world for a few years, visiting places such as Costa Rica and Iceland. My favourite location being South Africa where I discovered my passion for wildlife storytelling which led me to working in the film and TV industry in Bristol.

I then did some work abroad where I met some friends who worked as wedding photographers. I became a second photographer for my friend for a few of her jobs, and it was here that I realised my love for the job. My Dad is a sports photographer and my Brother is a music videographer so creativity runs through our blood.

Being in Bristol has opened my eyes to such a different world, filled with alternative, like-minded people. Bristol is known as the best city in Britain to live! I really enjoy the vibe that is surrounding the city, Bristol being home to the famous Banksy, Gloucester Road where I love seeing the variety up pubs, shops and bars, Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway which are great shopping centres to visit with friends. When I moved to Bristol I shared a flat with some girls right above the most amazing pub ever, The Alma Vale Tavern in Clifton. Home to the famous Clifton suspension bridge, cross this and reach some wonderful walks through Leigh Woods and down to Ashton Court Estate.  Bristol’s best vantage point being Clifton observatory for watching the yearly Bristol balloon festival.

I can’t talk about Bristol without mentioning the music scene! Music venues including The Fleece where I saw Ed Sheeran at an incredible intimate gig before he got wildly famous. Bristol’s O2 Arena where I have seen the likes of Jungle, Paloma Faith, Black Pumas and Circa Waves. Also, the wonderful Downs Festival and Tokyo world where I have been lucky enough to see Loyle Carner, Ms Lauryn Hill, Pendulum and many more!

My favourite spot to take my couples on engagement photoshoots or on their wedding day is the thriving Bristol Harbourside, home to the M Shed where I enjoy going to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition every year, and the Arnolfini where I once experienced Wildscreen Festival. I love it around the Old City where Bristol’s registry office lies. I get so excited when I photograph a wedding there because there are so many opportunities to be creative and arty. Tunnels filled with graffiti, floors covered in flowers and quirky side streets, not forgetting the famous Christmas Steps.

Being a Bristol wedding photographer lets me explore my creative side which is why I love my job so much. I really enjoy meeting fun, colourful alternative couples whether they be having an urban warehouse, festival chic or simply just a colour pop rustic barn wedding.
