Maddy and Harry’s elegant Pennard House wedding

I was so happy to be asked to be Maddy and Harry’s Pennard House Wedding Photographer. I had never shot at this venue before, and it was on my list to do so. What a beautiful Somerset wedding location. This hidden gem, set in the rolling hills of Somerset is a family-owned country estate. The large gardens and historic building are fit for a grand celebration. The florists who recommended me, Lauren Alexander Blooms worked her magic with this venue. She managed to create the most beautiful secret garden party vibe.

Maddy and Harry’s wedding at Pennard House

Maddy and Harry’s wedding was my 4th day photographing in a row. I was so excited to be a part of their special day because Maddy, Harry and I got on so well and I could see the love that radiated between this special couple. We did an engagement photoshoot the October before their wedding in the hills where they lived in Peasdown St John. This really helped with the couple’s nerves when it came to having their photograph taken.

When the videographer (and my brother) Harry and I arrived at Pennard House we were greeted by a wonderfully smart dressed groom and shown to the room where Maddy was. This was a beautifully airy and light room with a huge bed and bath overlooking the estate. This room made for some lovely bridal portraits and getting ready photos.

Once ready and looking like a blushingly beautiful bride, Maddy walked down the lawn aisle and was greeted by Harry at the end. The ceremony was wonderful, so emotional and raw. The sun came out and wedding guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly ready to paint their smiles on for the group photos. Once we finished on the lawn with group portraits, we used the gardens and gorgeous greenhouse for the rest of our couple portraits.

The wedding breakfast took place in an outbuilding where Lauren the florist and the events manager Charlie had made the room look so bright and gorgeous. After some touching speeches and sunset shots the evening celebrations were underway in the stables with some amazing singing and guitar playing by a friend.

Being part of this celebration and being the couple’s Pennard House Wedding Photographer was such a privilege. If you like what you see and want to discuss your wedding photography then please do get in touch using the form bellow, I can’t wait to hear your plans!
