Christmas Wedding

Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer

This was the perfect day to be a Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer. Carla and Ashley got married on the 21st December 2022, the day after my birthday. Being a Winter celebration, I was a bit worried that the weather will be a bit pants however, Carla and Ashley were so lucky because it was a clear blue sky and sunny pretty much all day. Which helped me get some lovely snaps to remember the big day.

I met Carla, her sister and her Mum at The Big Southwest Wedding Fair back in 2021. We got on like a house on fire, therefore I was so pleased when Carla decided to book me to for her special day at Rockbeare Manor in Devon. I think it is important to get along with your wedding photographer because otherwise you won’t feel comfortable with them in front of the camera. If you do feel calm with them then you will get nicer pictures, because you will have the ability to be yourself and relax.

I had never been to Rockbeare Manor before, so I was slightly nervous but when I arrived the lovely Steph, the events manager made me feel super welcome and gave me the grand tour. Rockbeare Manor is a classic and grand but elegant venue. It is the perfect venue for any season because of the striking manor, big open windows, and fabulous interior and exterior pose for a gorgeous backdrop for photographs.

December is my favourite time of year, not only because it is my birthday and Christmas, but I love just the sunny, crisp and cold days. There couldn’t have been a better day to celebrate this wonderful Winter wedding at Rockbeare Manor. Carla and Ashley went for a very elegant and classic theme with velvet suits, dark blue bridesmaid dresses, white flowers, and sparkling Christmas lights. Their ceremony was held in a room with big chandeliers and huge windows allowing for lots of natural light. They then had some confetti and photos outside, then while guests mingled Carla, Ashley and I went up to the barns where bride prep was in the morning and around Rockbeare manor for some couple portraits.

The Bath Magician then joined the party (it was his birthday that day, bless him) to show the guests his spectacular magic tricks before everyone gathered in the hall for dinner. Followed by some touching speeches, the first dance and rolling into the party to celebrate Carla and Ashley’s marriage.

I really enjoyed being at this stunning wedding at Rockbeare Manor and I hope to photograph another there very soon!

Please get in touch using the form bellow if you liked the look of this wedding, I would love to hear what plans you have for yours, wether it be Christmas themed or something else!
